"REFLECTIONS"EXHIBIT - St. Augustine Art Association, Marine S. St. Augustine, Florida

With an Opening Reception and Awards on Sunday January 10, 2010 ( 2:00-5PM )
I was presented with an HONORABLE MENTION AWARD for my oil painting titled: HYDRA -ZEN
Ocean inspirations, imbued with the colors of the sea, find their way into her paintings. Sea-glass hues and fluid designs are in each brushstroke. Images of shells, fish, seahorses, or starfish will make appearances in her pieces--sometimes they are in the hidden messages.
Joan captures the love she has for the coast, the inter-coastal waterway and the lovely St. Johns River- revealing the beauty of our surrounding waters here in Jacksonville. She is able to let the serene feeling emerge - keeping a mysterious tone to her creations with her whispered words or treasures she receives from the sea. The artist's quiet walks on the beach, nuture her creative process and fuel her inspiration, for her talents to create impressionistic works of art!
Joan Carver's enthusiasm is as enchanting as her artwork. "I want my artwork to behold the love and warm feeling I have for the beach. I want the viewer to feel the solitude and be mesmerized by the water's beauty."
